Historical notice
Le château existait au 12e siècle. Détruit par les Anglais et reconstruit au 15e siècle. Plusieurs rois y séjournèrent : Saint-Louis en 1427, Charles VIII en 1493 et Anne de Bretagne. La tour ouest s'est effondrée vers 1880. Une terrasse fut construite à son emplacement. L'échauguette sud-ouest date de cette époque.
