Château de la Chevrière — Château in Saché (Indre-et-Loire) inscrit Monument Historique (inscribed) in 1971 under the French Heritage Act.

Historical notice

Ancien fief relevant de Colombiers. Ce lieu fut utilisé par Balzac, dans "Le lys dans la vallée", pour illustrer "Clochegourde", château de Mme de Mortsauf, en lui donnant l'aspect de "Vonnes", manoir voisin. Le château de la Chevrière a été transformé. La porte d'accès s'ouvre dans une architecture divisée en trois travées par des pilastres soutenant l'entablement et un fronton triangulaire. Du côté de la cour se trouvent deux petites échauguettes polygonales. De part et d'autre de la porte se développe un bâtiment de servitude aboutissant à un pavillon carré.
