Historical notice
Edifice de la fin du 15e siècle, de fondation royale, bâti à l'emplacement d'une chapelle primitive. Selon la tradition, Charles Martel, vainqueur de la bataille de Tours, y aurait déposé son épée sous l'autel. Cette même épée aurait servi à Jeanne d'Arc. Après la mort de cette dernière, Charles VII rebâtit la chapelle. L'église actuelle fut fondée en 1431. Elle fut achevée sous Charles VIII ou Louis XII.
