Historical notice
Mentionnée en 1158 sous le patronage de l'abbaye augustine de Plaimpied, l'église fut dédicacée en 1204. Elle était le siège d'un prieuré. La nef, le choeur et l'abside furent construits dans la deuxième moitié du 12e siècle. Au 13e siècle, sur la première travée de la nef, fut édifié un clocher-porche. Au 15e siècle furent entrepris la construction de la chapelle sud, ainsi que le voûtement du choeur et du clocher-porche. Au 16e siècle fut construite la chapelle nord, restaurée en 1670 pour Henri-le-Bègue. Au troisième quart du 17e siècle fut reconstruite la charpente du clocher et du portail ouest. Une importante restauration de la chapelle sud eut lieu en 1835, puis de la charpente du clocher en 1838, par l'architecte Michel Ragon. La sacristie a été construite en 1902.
