Historical notice
La chapelle aurait été fondée vers 1075 et faisait partie d'un prieuré qui dépendait de l'abbaye de Saint-Georges-du-Bois. Cette église était autrefois plus grande qu'elle ne l'est. Il n'en subsiste plus que le choeur et l'abside. La nef, qui servit de magasin après la désaffection de l'église, a disparu. Les maisons cernant la chapelle, l'ancienne tannerie et le moulin, faisaient partie de l'enclos du petit monastère. L'ensemble était fermé par des murs. L'intérieur de la chapelle conserve des chapiteaux sculptés (têtes, feuillages, oiseaux).
