Historical notice
Ce prieuré fut successivement sous le patronage de l'abbaye de Saint-Laurent de Bourges, de l'abbaye de Saint-Satur, puis de l'archevêque de Bourges. Au début du 12e siècle, l'oratoire était sous le vocable de Saint-Jean-l'Evangéliste. En 1158, il a été acquis par les chanoines réguliers de Saint-Satur. En 1392-1393, l'église a été réunie à la Sainte-Chapelle, puis érigée en paroisse. De l'église édifiée à la fin du 12e siècle, seule demeure la partie orientale : abside, absidioles et choeur. La salle capitulaire a été convertie en habitation.
