Historical notice

L'hôtel d'Epernon formait à l'origine, avec l'hôtel d'Amboise, un seul édifice construit pour le cardinal Georges d'Amboise. Sans doute vers 1573, l'hôtel fut divisé en deux parties, dont l'une fut habitée par le duc d'Epernon qui lui laissa son nom.
