Historical notice
Cette maison en bois formait, avec l'ancienne chancellerie et l'hôtel Saint-Pol, un ensemble connu sous le nom de Carroir (carrefour) Doré à cause des dorures qui rehaussaient autrefois les plombs de la toiture de l'une des maisons. L'édifice a perdu ses tourelles d'angles dont subsistent seules les enrayures, lesquelles indiquent que l'une devait être circulaire et l'autre polygonale. L'étage de la maison et les tourelles ont été supprimés et remplacés par un comble avec pignon. Les poteaux corniers ont conservé leurs sculptures. Ils sont ornés de bases, de bagues et de petits chapiteaux à profils de la fin du 15e ou du début du 16e siècle, et surmontés de parties sculptées (Saint-Michel terrassant le dragon
