Historical notice

La chapelle du château de Touvent fut édifiée en 1855. Orientée et de dimensions modestes, elle comprend un vaisseau unique de cinq travées, flanqué de bas-côtés très étroits, et terminé par une abside en hémicycle. Le décor sculpté de son architecture éclectique se distingue par un goût du détail très prononcé. La décoration intérieure est l’oeuvre d’artistes parisiens parmi les plus renommés du moment tels Alexandre Denuelle et Eugène-Stanislas Oudinot. La chapelle possède encore son mobilier d’origine : autel, pavage en marbre, chaire, retable, etc.
