Historical notice
La première église Saint-André ayant été démolie à la Révolution, une nouvelle église est décidée en 1843 et confiée à l'architecte André Bisson puis Alfred Dauvergne. Ce dernier réalise une église à trois nefs, avec un transept et deux clochers en façade, dans le style néo-gothique du 13e siècle. L'édifice a conservé une partie de son mobilier contemporain de la construction. Les vitraux sont de l'atelier Lobin, à Tours, et ont été posés en 1875-1876. Les verrières du choeur, endommagées par le bombardement de la gare en 1944, ont été remplacées par des vitraux de Detviller et Tillier d'Issoudun, posés en 1955 et 1963.
